Autumn dress with a double collar

Taking photos outdoors in November is not the most pleasant. The landscape does not encourage walking, not to mention the temperature. However, what is not done to show you the effects of my work. 😉

Red as red trees in November. It’s the first time I’ve sewn from a fabric in this color and I really like the effect. It’s a fall style.

This dress definitely has that “something” to it.
First of all, I used a double-breasted front fastening in this project, which is more often found in coats than dresses. Secondly, the double collar. Oh how long I thought about how to technically do it. I dreamed of such a collar and after a few attempts I managed to figure out how to sew it.

The collar, apart from the fact that it is double (or in fact quadruple if you count the layers of fabric) also has a cut on the shoulder line. Thanks to this cut, a plain shawl collar has gained character and imitates a turn-down collar.

Of course, what is characteristic of me, I added a color accent. I sewed the collar of the trousers from a fabric in a beautiful raspberry color. In my opinion, it works great with the red base fabric.

The dress is unbuttoned in the middle of the back, but not to the very end, so as not to cut the collar. I really like this type of fastening, because it is effective and functional at the same time.

I couldn’t forget about the pockets either. In my opinion, it is important that, apart from a nice look, clothes are also functional. I often don’t add pockets when sewing my clothes, because I want to save time. However, I always regret not adding them, because then I miss them a lot.

I’m constantly trying to raise the bar for myself and this dress has been the most complicated project I’ve made so far. Lots of turns on the needle that require a lot of precision in sewing. However, I must admit that I really like such difficult projects. They are doubly happy. 🙂

Let me know in the comments how you like this project.
In the meantime, I invite you to see more photos below and have a nice day. 🙂
